![]() Name: Siera Age: Birthday: June 23 [Cancer], 605 AR Blood Type: Class: Civilian Country: Currently at // Azudesce, Megam Family: Father // Robert [deceased], Mother // Natalie [deceased], Brother // Taylor Languages: Trade, Megam [Fluent] Weapon Proficiencies: None Theme: "Material Girl" - Madonna ![]() Siera was born in Azudesce, to a fisherman and his wife, a former sister of the Church. For fourteen years, they lived a simple life by the sea. Her mother was deeply devout, and based her children's education around the teachings of the Scriptures. Everything was related to the will of the Dragons in some shape or form; if the Dragons were pleased, the sun shone, and the catch was plentiful, if the Dragons were angered, storms raged, and the house flooded. Her mother was always quite frail, having never quite recovered from bearing and delivering twin children. In time, with Taylor away at sea with their father, it fell to Siera to do most of the housework. When her mother fell ill with consumption, she died soon afterwards. The family grieved, and then moved on, much too quickly for Siera's liking. She took up all of housework, cleaning the house when her father and brother were away, cooking meals to satisfy their hearty appetites when they came home, going to the market to buy them food. And once at the market, watching the merchant girls pass by with their pretty dresses and jewellery, watching them buy pretty trinkets, watching them eat fancy cakes and sweets, watching them being fawned with attention by male friends. It was then, against everything she had been taught, and without her mother's influence to guide her, that Siera envied. When Siera was eighteen, her father drowned at sea, the family's boat wrecked, and with it their only source of income and support. Taylor had greeted this news the same way he did with their mother's death: grieving for a few days and then, to Siera, assuring himself, and her, that everything was going to be fine. Siera could not understand it. Everything was not going to be fine, Taylor was still learning how to fish, and even if Taylor could become as good a fisherman as their father was, they had no boat and had to depend on someone to take him on board, why couldn't Taylor see that they weren't going to be fine? So, when Taylor first ventured out to sea by himself, Siera went out to the market, as she did every morning, and secured herself a job at the Silver Scales. The bar was a haunt for foreign and local sailors who had been long at sea, and as such, paid a certain attention to the barmaids to which Siera was unaccustomed, but she was determined to have the job for as long as was necessary -- she couldn't leave the breadwinning to her fool of a brother. This opinion was only further resolved in her mind when Taylor insisted, not on saving their money, but on spending it. The relationship between the twins began to deteriorate as they disagreed on almost everything and as Taylor spent more and more time away from home. One year on, Taylor spends most of his time at sea, leaving Siera to fume alone. ![]() When Siera was little and her mother was alive, the sun shone, the catch was plentiful, everything was right and she was happy. Siera was responsible and hard-working for a girl her age, and loved the Dragons her mother told her about. When her mother died, Siera's personality began to change. She started to doubt, she started to resent, she started to envy. She started dreaming of things she could never have, knowing that coveting and envying would displease the Dragons, and she could not stop because she did not want to stop. Her father's death only served to accelerate her transition from a quiet, shy girl into an overly emotional woman in a state of near constant dissatisfaction, or, for lack of a better term, a screeching harpy with a penchant for melodrama. Anything and everything is capable of irritating her, she can hold a grudge until the world's end, and her disappointments are many, least of all her twin brother. One might think that a person like Siera finds little joy in anything, when in fact, Siera spends a good part of her time enjoying her few hobbies; that is, she enjoys imagining the life she could lead. Siera enjoys saving up her money, she enjoys thinking of the clothes and jewellery she'll buy once she has enough, she enjoys thinking of how nice she'll look once she has them, she enjoys thinking of the attention she'll attract. She also spends a good part of her time dwelling on the wrongs in her life thus far. She mourns for her mother stil, although she does not show it, she is angry at her father for being so dumb as to get into an accident, she is even angrier that Taylor seems to have no inkling of how dire their situation really is and how his lack of foresight has further reduced them. She has counted up so many percieved wrongs that now, in her heart, Siera does not know if she believes in the Dragons any longer. ![]() Siera looks remarkably different to her brother, enough so that one would never pick for them to be related. She always keeps her brown hair up in a ponytail or a bun with an old hair ornament that belonged to her mother, and dresses in well-worn clothees in shades of reds and pinks. She rarely smiles these days. ![]() Siera's bitching is brought to you by ![]() ![]() |
